Here at Iceni Training we offer a carefully planned Gymnastics programme...now don't be put off by the word ‘gymnastics’...it's not all cartwheels and somersaults!
In our gymnastics sessions we focus on being able to maintain correct body shape in static and dynamic positions. These sessions will assist in the development of accuracy, agility, balance, coordination, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, power, speed, strength, and stamina. Fundamental areas of the body are targeted from core stability, to coordination and body awareness.
Why is this important?
Understanding and mastering your body will help translate over not just into your training but your everyday life. For the average person, this helps them maintain the ability to get on and off the floor to play with their children or grandchildren, stand up from a chair, sit comfortably at a desk, or vacuum without pain. For athletes, it promotes more efficient movement, therefore preventing injury and improving performance. Having a strong or stable core can often prevent overuse injuries, and can help boost resiliency and ease of rehab from acute injury.
What to expect:
Most of our sessions are body weight exercises, where we will not only build up your core strength, we will work on coordination, being able to be in control of your body and move safely and correctly. We will work on the basic shapes and positions which you will then be able to take over into your other sessions. All exercises can be adapted/adjusted to each person's level so everyone gets the most out of their session.
